Cognitive abilities (e.g. giftedness, intellectual challenges);
Learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia);
Attention and concentration (e.g. ADHD);
Autism spectrum (ASD);
Internalising difficulties (e.g. anxiety, low mood, withdrawal);

Assessments include interviews, questionnaires, standardised testing, and a review of background information. Ideally, we schedule the standardised testing and interviewing aspects of the assessment to occur across one day’s time (typically a Saturday morning). In preparation for an upcoming assessment, the more collateral information (i.e., previous assessment reports; school reports ect) you can provide the better.
Fees:
Assessment costs range from $900 to $1500, depending on the type and number of assessments completed.
What You’ll Receive:
A comprehensive written report outlining findings, diagnosis (if relevant), and tailored recommendations;
A parent feedback session to discuss the report findings and discuss recommendations;
A feedback for your child to discuss the findings of the report in a child friendly and strengths based manner;
Optional school feedback session to discuss the relevant aspects of the report with the child’s school.

Why Seek an Assessment?
There are many reasons a psychological or educational assessment may be recommended for your child. Sometimes, concerns are raised by a teacher or learning support staff at school. In other cases, parents may notice their child is struggling emotionally, behaviourally, or academically and want a clearer understanding of what’s going on. Assessments may also be suggested by a GP or paediatrician to help clarify a diagnosis, guide treatment, or access supports like NDIS or school accommodations.
An assessment can help answer questions such as:
Why is my child finding learning harder than their peers?;
Could my child be gifted or have a learning disorder like dyslexia?;
Could my child have ADHD or autism?;
Is anxiety, low mood, or behaviour impacting my child’s wellbeing?;
What strategies and supports will help my child thrive?
Understanding what your childs strengths, challenges, and needs are can be a powerful step towards building the right support plan at home, school, and in therapy to help your child thrive.
