Therapy Services
Our psychologists support clients with a range of mental health concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and life challenges. We also offer parent coaching and specialised therapy for neurodivergent individuals, including those with autism, ADHD, and learning differences.
At Ithaca Psychology, we provide evidence-based therapy for:
children (6 years and up);
adolescents; and
adults.
Therapy for Children & Adolescents
Therapy provides a safe and supportive space for children and adolescents to explore their thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. A psychologist can help young people navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, social difficulties, trauma, and life transitions using evidence-based approaches.
What to Expect in the First Session
The first session focuses on understanding the child's or adolescent’s needs, background, and goals. The psychologist may meet with the parent/carer and the young person to gather information, discuss concerns, and explain how therapy works. Sessions are tailored to the child’s developmental level, using age-appropriate strategies to help them feel comfortable and engaged.
Goals & Treatment Plan
Together, we set clear goals and develop a personalised treatment plan to support emotional well-being, build coping skills, and improve daily functioning. Therapy may involve cognitive-behavioural strategies, play-based approaches, or social skills training, depending on the child’s needs. Collaboration with parents, caregivers, and schools can also be included to ensure consistent support across environments.
Therapy for Adults
Therapy provides a supportive space to explore your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. A psychologist can help you navigate challenges like anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and life transitions using evidence-based strategies.
What to Expect in Your First Session
Your first session is about understanding your concerns, background, and goals. Your psychologist will ask questions to get to know you, discuss what brings you to therapy, and explore what you hope to achieve.
