Michael Plate

Michael is passionate about supporting individuals and families facing mental health challenges. He provides a warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences and work towards meaningful change.

With a strong focus on understanding the factors contributing to mental health concerns, Michael has experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, neurodevelopmental disorders, and a range of other psychological difficulties. He tailors his approach to each client’s unique needs, drawing on evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). He also incorporates psychoeducation, relaxation strategies, and skills training in areas like problem-solving and anger management.

Michael completed his psychology training at the University of Queensland, gaining general registration in 2019. In 2024, he earned a Master of Clinical Psychology (Advanced Entry) with Distinction from the University of Southern Queensland.

He has worked in diverse settings, including disability services, juvenile justice, primary schools, universities, and private practice. This broad experience allows him to effectively support clients across the lifespan, helping them navigate challenges with practical strategies and a compassionate approach.

Chris Anastasiou

Chris is a dedicated psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults to support their mental health and well-being. He provides a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where clients feel heard and empowered to navigate life’s challenges.

Chris has experience in community and hospital settings, working with individuals facing anxiety, depression and emotional regulation difficulties. Chris also has an interest in ADHD and autism, particularly in intervention and support strategies. He has facilitated group interventions and supported clients managing the psychological impact of medical conditions.

His therapeutic approach is client-centred and evidence-based, drawing on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). He tailors each session to the unique needs and goals of his clients, helping them build resilience and develop practical coping strategies.

Chris earned his Master of Clinical Psychology with Distinction from Griffith University. Beyond his clinical work, Chris has contributed to psychological research and is a published author in the field. His research, with colleagues, was published in Psychonomic Bulletin & Review (2023, Vol. 30, Issue 3, pp. 822-842) and explores the cognitive mechanisms underlying human navigation and spatial awareness.
